Notes

Left a note on the pattern:
Might I suggest adding a brief explanation of how to carry the two yarns when doing the corrugated rib stitch? I was accidentally doing double-knit until I looked it up, because the pattern didn’t say what to do between the k1 p1. Also, if there’s any specific way to introduce the second color after casting on, it would probably be better than the knot-on that I did…

So far, enjoying the soft stretchiness of this yarn. Was dismayed to find that the pattern calls for needle sizes 6 and 8, while I had ordered 6 and 7. Substituted size 9 to ensure a loose enough collar.

Finished the yoke! Now for the scary part…

Finished the second sleeve!

Started the bottom cuff today :) It seems like it’s going to be a big, long body to the sweater, but I still have lots of leftover yarn!

The pattern way over-estimated the yardage, and now I have a bunch of leftover yarn. I bought some brown elastic shirring thread to work into the ends of the corrugated rib, because it’s very loose and tends to curl out on itself.

Finished casting off last night. A little peeved at how much overestimation there was in the yardage counts. Thinking I was going to need almost all of it, I used up the lighter brown (6 skeins) first before diving in on the 10 skeins of darker brown, interesting for it to form a shorter band in the middle, and be mostly dark brown. But no, more than half of the dark brown is unused.
