I’ve decided on Conservation Volunteers because to my mind it has a threefold benefit - volunteering helps individuals, strengthens communities, and also gets good work done. This one is well established and does broader work, but also has a specific bushfire regeneration branch.
The pattern photos were taken in nearby Belair National Park, on a 2017 burn off site. It was wonderful and very heartening to see how much has grown back in 3 years. Recovery from more signifigant fires, and fires in more fragile/critical environments is a different issue however, and human effort makes a difference.
So very tempted to rename this Tree Hugger.. :)
