This will be a wedding gift for a friend. She wanted everything is her wedding to be pink. Since she was not able to find a pink veil I thought I would at least make her a pink shawl that she could wear on her wedding day.
Will use Dyna-mites 6/0 seed beads in transparent rainbow clear.
Hopefully I can get this long enough to go through all of the color changes I dyed into the lace yarn.
The last time I made this shawl I had serious problems with the stitches getting off course. Now that I have made a few of Boo’s shawls since then I am hoping I will not have the same problems.
I had a little issue with workin the boarder. Everyone I thought I was workin the pattern right I was forgetting YO’s or adding them in.
I am extremely please with the final result even though I was a few rows short. And I really hope my friend likes it.
Project Notes
- Decided to work stockinet body until there was 163 sts.
- made all the way to row 9 in lace section when I realized I forgot to go up a needle size. Will switch to 4.5 mm needles now on the WS row.
- Worked Lace section 5 times.
- I am at the end of Row 19 of the lace boarder and I am afraid that I might run out yarn. I have 22 grams left at this point which is about 192.5 yds. At this point I used about 2g of yarn when knitting Row 18. If I use 2g and then increase by 1g and so on for the remaining rows. I estimate it will take 16g to finish the rows leaving me with 6g for the BO. Might be cutting it real close with this one. So instead, since I have no desire to frog back or dye more yarn for this, I plan to knit Row 19 and then BO.
- Ended up with 16g of yarn left after the BO. Glad I decided to end the shawl when I did.
