8/25/13: I know I want to do this MKAL. I already have the pattern and the beads. Now I just need to dye the yarn. But trying to figure out what colors to dye the yarn is the problem. I am thinking a purple-black gradient is in order.

8/26/ I finally dyed the perfect yarn today for this. But now I am wondering if my beads will work with the burgundy color of the yarn.

10/1: First Clue has been released and I am soooo excited! Clue has been printed and I hope to CO later this evening after I give the clue a good look over.

All set to CO- woohoo!

Project Notes:

• Clue 1- Decided to go with the larger size shawl. I did 3 repeats with US 5 and did 1 final repeat with US 6.
• Clue 2 is done. I’ve made it into the 3rd color change. I love how I was able to dye this yarn so that sections look old and faded. I want this shawl to have the look that has been in a family for generations. There is also 57 grams of yarn left. I hope I have enough to finish the last 2 clues.
• Clue 3- decided to do only one repeat of this chart. The shawl is already pretty big. I have 37 grams left. I am finally into the last color change of the yarn :D
• working the BO which will take hours to finish. I am using a 3.25 mm US D crochet hook for the BO.

This was my very first MKAL and I will say the most challenging shawl I have knit to date. I loved it all and look forward to doing another one :)
