Notes

I want a proper Norwegian sweater with skulls and ljus.

December 31, 2018

I have been meaning to make this sweater forever. It is rather like a sweater I knit for my mother some years ago -- black and white with red trim and ljus like a proper Norwegian sweater. But I’m going to have the skulls from We Call Them Pirates around the yoke.

I am so pleased with this sweater, I could pop.

Starting the back with neck shaping all in black was something of a design mistake, but I don’t think is going to be too freaky. (You can see the shaping at the left neck)

Just as some notes about the sweater:

It’s an Elizabeth Zimmerman Seamless Yoke Sweater.

The first pattern round on the yoke is stolen from Adrian Bizilla’s We Call Them Pirates hat.

The second pattern round is straight out of Knitting Without Tears. The third pattern round I made up in Excel.
