After I made the mittens, I just had to have a hat to go with it.

I used a heavier yarn than the pattern called for, which gave me a somewhat larger hat. I very carefully shrank it a bit in the dryer, so now I have a dense, warm hat that covers my ears -- unlike my first attempt at this hat back in 2007 or so.
