My preferred fabric is a bit off of gauge (19.5 stitches/4 inches on US6) so I will go up a pattern size to compensate. We’ll see how that goes.

The front is now placed on hold. Cast on for the back.will then join the front and the back to work the body.

Use the mattress stitch to attach front to back at the shoulder seams.

Cast on underarm stitches as the front is attached to the back to knit in the round.

First try on. Seems like a good fit.
Was thinking that I might want to pick up the armscye and neckline stitches and block to get a good length.

The ribbing at the neckline and also both armscye seams are in place.

I will work 2 more inches and then make a decision on the hem. Should I make a high-low split hem? Or simply 2 x 2 ribbing at the end?

Used try-on cable to try on. Soaked in tepid water in a Eucalan bath. After 20 minutes, it was spun dry in the laundry machine and is laid flat to dry.

when dry, I will try it on again to make sure that it is 2.5” shorter than the desired front length. If is is, then I will begin working the ribbed hem.

The high-low split hem is a go!
