7/15/2014 - Finished my sweater and now it’s blocking! It’s a tiny bit big, but it works. :) I love the yarn I used (O-Wool Local), it’s super soft and the color is a deep blue that I think will work well with a lot of different things, and I actually really like the black button band. Overall I’m pretty happy with this project and love the idea of sewing something and knitting something to match and want to try it again.

7/13/2014 - Finished my dress today (Vogue Pattern V8469); I’m happy-ish with it, but there are some definite fit issues I just couldn’t seem to get right. I think I should have done an FBA because the upper portion of the bodice is too tight and won’t lay right, I thought it would be fine because it’s just gathered underneath, but it’s definitely tight. I like the dress a lot, so I think if I did an FBA for the top portion and maybe cut the next size smaller for the midsection, since that’s oddly baggy, it would fit a lot better. I didn’t want to start over because it took me awhile to get to where I am, but I can see making this another time and hopefully getting it right, or at least closer to right. :) I’m almost done with my sweater as well, I just have the button band to do. I’m pretty much out of yarn, so I’m doing the button band in black because I’m too impatient to wait for more yarn and I can always redo it later if I don’t like it.

6/15/2014 - Finished the body of the sweater, but I didn’t do as many repeats of the decrease as the pattern calls for because it would just have been too long for me. The pattern calls for 10 total decrease repeats for the size small, but I only did 7. This left the bottom of my sweater larger than it should be so I sized down to the size 8 needles for the ribbing to pull it in a bit. I double checked my gauge and it’s still where it should be, so I guess it just needed to be shorter because I’m pretty short waisted, so hopefully it looks right in the end! I am in love with my yarn though, it’s super soft and it seems very sturdy. I haven’t started on the sewing portion yet, mostly because I’m worried I’ll mess it up, but my fabric is washed and ironed and ready to go!

6/8/2014 - Did my swatch and it’s almost perfectly on gauge when I size up to the 9’s for needles, so I’m going ahead with that.
