Swatched some Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool that I loved, but felt a bit too drapey, so I’m trying the Ash Lawn now. Gauge was spot on, but with such a high cotton content, I’m worried how the cables will look. We’ll see.
It’s coming along nicely though… already through about 16 rounds of the cable pattern.
The Timber Wolf gray is a classic neutral color that should go with nearly anything.
Also, I am LOVING the alternating cable cast on. First time I’ve used it but it won’t be the last.

The Ash Lawn did not work. The cotton content was too high… made cables tricky. Also, it was all the same dye lot, but definitely not the same color.
Will cast on with some lovely NSW Cascade 220. It may not be exact for row gauge, but I know I can get stitch gauge with it, and it will work well with the cable.
Be careful to do your M1Rs and M1Ls loosely so the shoulders don’t pucker.

Joined in the round and finished that skein. Am knitting the sleeves before finishing the body because I only have about 1700 yds of this yarn and I want to be sure I have plenty.
Making the wide sleeves and using the sewn tubular bind off.
Knit the sleeve to 13.5” instead of 15” before the cuff. My arms are just a little bit short I guess. I almost always have to leave about an inch off.

On the ribbing now for the hem. Using US4 for neck and sleeve ribbing, US5 for body hem, and US6 for everything else.

All that’s left is the tubular bind off on the bottom! Tomorrow…
I knit the body to about 9.5” I think, though I know it’s going to block longer, and the hem to 3” instead of 2.5”. I’ll try to remember to come back and add finished measurements and row gauge everywhere when I’m done.

Finished today and will block tonight. I’ll take measurements and final photos over the weekend.
This would’ve take at least a week less to knit if I hadn’t knit the whole yoke before realizing the first yarn I chose wouldn’t work.
