Delightful pairing of yarn and pattern. Love the small details on this one and would definitely make again.

Another thing I really like about this pattern is that she provides charting for both Dark dominant and Light dominant.

WEIGH!
. Weighed cakes right away, so I could make sure I have enough when I get halfway.
. Glad I had plump skeins. Definitely needed 100g for the MC.
. Note to self: do not use with 100g or less on the MC. Make sure you’ve got extra!
… maybe could get away with a light fingering using a smaller needle size?

COLOR DOMINANCE
. I’m leaning towards the dark dominant
. Another thought is that the lighter color is close to my mom’s skin tone, so maybe having that dominant close to her face would be too much.

EDGES - I-CORD
. Oops. Glad I swatched because I didn’t read the pattern carefully. I was looking mostly at the chart and read the first part of the Even Row instructions, but not the very end.
… Remember to sl2wyif at the end of even rows
. I checked the I-cord edge on my swatches and they both have good stretch. Like I can pull the fabric taut and it doesn’t feel constrained.
. On the plus side, this may be the edging I use on all mosaic pieces now.

… This yarn feels so soft!

Burnt Caramel and Lost Horizons go well together, but unfortunately not enough contrast for this pattern. Just ordered a black to go with the caramel and a dark blue to go with the horizons.

This pairing is warmer in real life (than photo).

. This looks really good with solids as well. One skein each of fingering.

. I can see doing this with Malabrigo Rios or Miss Babs Yowza
