Changed my mind!

Going to do a Porcelain Cowl instead of fooling around with Tuck Stitches. I’ll get back to that eventually, but first, relaxing into good ol’ basic brioche.

If I am lucky, perhaps I will get two out of my skeins? Nope.
A pair of matching mitts? Maybe

The Porcelain Cowl is bottom up and starts with the tip. I really like this approach because adjusting size for a different weight yarn will be easier. I’ll just knit the flat until I’ve got a circumference that will go around my head, then join in the round.

SEAM or JOIN?
. At first I thought that perhaps a seam would make it sturdier
. Then I thought, well, hats are in the round, so it shouldn’t be a problem?
. Now I am thinking I will also knit at a tighter gauge, especially since the Rios likes to relax when wet blocked.
. But I won’t wet block until I have to - I will likely steam it first.

NEEDLE SIZE
. Many of lellekas’ pattern projects that use Rios are done in US 4.
. I did my Primavera in Rios on size US 5. Curious to try a little smaller needle, so I went with a 4. Very nice!
. Also used a US 6 to do the I-cord BO

DIANA
. A ‘gradient’ skein - that goes lighter yellow/orange emphasis to darker pink/purple

FLAT
. Went through Part B + up thru Row 4
. 11” h x 21” w
. Diana: 33.9g used
. Black: 33.6g used

JOIN
. I slipped the first stitch of the row
. Then on the last stitch of the row, I trapped the CC and knit the first and last stitch together.

ROUND
. Full set + up thru Round 10
. Diana: 34.0g
. Black: 33.2g

UNBLOCKED DIMENSIONS
. 17.5” h front
. 6.5” h back
. 21.5” circumference top of neck

TOTAL USED:
. Diana: 67.9g
. Black: 66.8g

May not block quite yet.
