A Happy Mom.
(photo leans red, but is a searing hot pink in real life.)

This yarn is soft!!
. And next to impossible to read the stitches to see where you are in the pattern. Especially when beginning. I am hoping I can read it better in time.
… There is a very slight subtle bumpier-ness to the rev st st side.
… Putting a removable stitch marker on the RS.
Making the Large with 2 cakes.
. Starting with smaller cake!
WEIGH YOUR CAKES
. I’m at the Small # of sts and weighed my remaining g = 24.0, so that means I’ve used 25.2g so far.
… If you are going to do a small size, make sure you’ve got a plump cake.
YARN
Pink #1
. Total g: 49.2
. 91 sts: -24.0r = 25.2u
. 125 sts: -2.4r = 21.6u
. Total used = 46.8g
Pink #2
. Total g: 51.9
. 89 sts: -31.2r = 20.7 + 2.4 = 23.1u
. estimating another 25g needed to finish, so should be okay.
. Remaining: 7.5g = 44.4u
. Total used = + 2.4 = 46.8
Total combined = 93.6g
DIMENSIONS - Unblocked:
. 91 sts = 20.5” long by 15” wide
. 125 sts = 28” long by 20” wide
. Full = 60” long by 20” wide
DIMENSIONS - Blocked:
? Will I block?
. I don’t think I’ll wash it until it needs it. I didn’t get any dye rubbing on while knitting it and since it is silk, I don’t think it will stretch or behave like wool does with blocking. Besides, my mom has run off with it.
. The real question is whether I’ll get a photo.
… Wow! Not one, but two!
WARNING:
. My mom quickly got it caught on her necklace. We were able to massage the loop back into the fabric. I suspect the bouclé is ‘catchy’.
