This is a fun knit, with an interesting construction and some unusual details! The pattern can be knit in one color, with stripes, or as a color block sweater…I obviously chose the stripes! I would totally knit this again, and I may end up doing just that.
Note about mods: the finished length in the pattern is much less than my tunic-length sweater. I added length in the striped section to accommodate that, see detailed notes below.
If you knit this, have fun…I sure did!
Jan 26, 2018 - Soooo, I am DONE with the knitting! Just need a block and some glamour shots! I think I am going to love this one!
Jan 24, 2017 - work sleeves to 16+65 rounds before cuff.
Jan 22, 2017 - sleeve short rows until there are 10+10 stitches at the underarm. 16 rounds to 1st decrease. (total stitch count 96)
Jan 21, 2017 - split hem 20 (24) rows before broken rib on front (back).
Jan 18, 2017 - Looking at my other tunic sweater, I will want approximately 20” between the underarm and hem, so I will be working 117 rounds before starting the split hem. When I left for work this morning, I was on round 93…
A-line increases every 6 rounds 13x, then every 8 rounds 4x.
Jan 14, 2017 - I worked a couple of decrease rounds on bodice, to create more waist shaping. Started a-line increases after 44 rounds (5.5”) on bodice.
Jan 11, 2018 - 20 rows after shoulder/neck shaping on front, before shaping arch. Also, when I picked up for left/right shoulders, I had 4 extra stitches on each side, so I took them out of the middle of the neckline when I cast on the extra. Seems fine so far. :)
Rating difficulty at Medium…I spent a LOT of time studying the pattern at each step along the way. I was able to figure it out, but I think that is because I really put in the time!
Jan 9, 2018 - 26 rows after shoulder shaping on back, before shaping arch.
Jan 8, 20178 - 8 days into January, and I am finally casting on for my annual sweater! Yay!
Row gauge a little short, 8 rows/in.
Starting project page without a stitch…yarn wound, and I’m studying the pattern before casting on!
