Another improv, so here’s my “recipe”:
Pick out a nice, black sock yarn, so that you will want to poke your eyes out from the not being able to see your stitches in about 5 minutes.
Cast on 34, join to knit in the round, and work 3-4 rounds 1x1 rib.
Realize that your “black” yarn is navy, and be ok with that…
Switch to stockinette, continue to ~50 rounds.
On round 11 or so, notice that you have accidentally done 1x1 on three of your 4 dpns. Call this a “design element” and repeat that partial round of 1x1 randomly through the skirt’s length.
Kf&b around.
1x1 rib for 3 rounds, then bind off in pattern.
Weave in your ends, and wriggle the thing onto your Barbie. Assure her that she loves it. Very much. And that she is grateful you made it for her…lol!
