I can’t believe that it took me until the 10th to cast on my annual January sweater for me, but I didn’t order the yarn until after Christmas, soooo…
I decided to do this all one color, pretty neutral. Then, after doing a gauge swatch on day one (wait…what? who am i?), I decided to add some beads to the lace panel on the sweater front. Because…you know…why keep it simple if you can add beads?
So far, so good. Had to go up to 6s for gauge, so I worked the seed stitch on 3s. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Other notes:
Read this pattern through carefully before you start. The set-up row almost tricked me with a “marked stitch” between sets of shoulder stitches…and I was only on row 14! Lol…
To add beads, I used a tiny crochet hook to place beads over decreased stitches before working those stitches on the wrong-side rows.
Adding some short rows for the bust, starting 8 rounds after splitting for sleeves. (I had intended to start 10 rounds in, but I must have jumped the gun, because when I got back to my row counter, I has only knit 8…lol!)
33 rounds to waist shaping.
3 sets of decreases/increases, every 10 rounds for gentler waist shaping.
Sleeves to 14 rounds before starting decreases. Work 74 rounds, then work cuffs 24 rounds.
OMGosh! I love, love, love this!
The photos are all pre-blocking (though I did spritz the lace to block it a little when the body was finished), and the truest color is on photos 1, 3 & 4.
