I made only one of the two motifs and modified round 6 to consist of 27 double crochets per side (each corner had two chains). I wanted the extra row so that the joins would be stable for a blanket. I joined with a single crochet in the back loop. The pattern was very easy to read and the motif was fast to make. I hope that my sister in law will love this.
