Notes

I’ve been promising my son socks for quite a while, but have been putting it off because I’m a very slow sock knitter, and was having a hard time wrapping my head around knitting two large fingering weight socks that weren’t little shorties like I usually knit. DK weight to the rescue!

I am absolutely loving knitting with this merino wool, cashmere and nylon blend. The pattern makes for the perfect movie knitting. I haven’t done an afterthought heel before, and am really looking forward trying it out.

5.4 Cast on before heading to the movies, and was able to knit about 6.5 inches while watching Avengers End Game.

5.5 Sailing day, another 7 inches added. Should be about ready for the cuff.

5.6 Set aside sock number 1 to cast on sock number 2. Finished toe, and will add the green after finishing the ribbing on sock number 1.

5.7 Finished the cuff, super stretchy bind off.

December: I held onto these socks for the longest time while I gathered the nerve to add the true afterthought heel. Finally broke down and added the heels so I could give these to my son for Christmas. They fit perfectly, and he loves them!
