Another movie hat. My first was 88 stitches, and I’d like it a little more snug. The second was 80 stitches, and I’d like it a little looser. This time I’m hoping 84 is the right fit.
6/16: Rocketman (4 inches)
8/11: The Art of Racing in the Rain (4 inches)
9/12: Bon Iver Concert (3 messy inches)
Finished the last few rounds and the decreases on a camping trip 9/15 and gifted the hat to my sister-in-law, who asked if I would make her a hat to replace all of her lovely hand knit chemo caps that were lost when her house burned in the Camp Fire in November 2018.
My movie hat recipe:
With DK weight yarn, cast on 80, 84, or 88, join in the round, K2, P2 all rounds until hat measures 11 inches, or until you feel like it is long enough. Decreases are worked like this:
Round 1 - K2, P2TOG (repeat)
Round 2 - K2, P1 (repeat)
Round 3 - K2TOG, P1 (repeat)
Round 4 - K1, P1 (repeat)
Round 5 - K2TOG (repeat)
Repeat rounds 5 until 6 stitches remain
Break yarn, thread through remaining stitches, weave in ends.
