I have 2 skeins of Milky Way but might need to get a third in a complimentary colour for swatching and insurance. Maisie will probably want the sleeves full length.

Started swatching with 4.5 mm needles and the Sweetheart yarn so I know I’ll have every last bit of the Milkyway for the sweater.

Knitted a second swatch on 4.0 mm needles. Both swatches are currently blocking and I’m hoping I’ll be able to cast on this sweater once they are dry and measured.

Finally cast on this sweater yesterday and made some progress this morning. The yarn is nice to work with and the colourway is so much fun.

Finished the body and the right front this morning thanks to Miss Maisie sleeping in a little late.

Neckband and button bands done. Next up is sleeves. I’ll have to figure out how long I can make them with the yarn I have left (about 50g of each ball).

Finally picked up sleeve number 2 and about half way done. I’m working the sleeves full length and added an extra decrease round.

After much complaining that the sleeves are too tight I have ripped back the first sleeve and will reknit it without my last (extra) sleeve decrease. I’ll also add about half an inch to the length of the sleeves. I think some more aggressive blocking will also help.

Started reknitting the first sleeve. The needles I’m using are the same size but a slightly different finish and there is a corresponding difference in gauge between the old and new knitting. As I’m currently on vacation I think I will continue and hope the difference will be less noticible once the sweater is blocked.

Finally cast off reknit sleeve #1 and frogged out the other sleeve to the second last decrease. Hopefully this one will go a little faster and then I can block (making sure to stretch the sleeves a little).

Bound off sleeve number 2 for the second time last night. Just need to weave in the ends and reblock it to find out if I managed to make any improvement on the perceived fit. I fear I may have missed the window by a growth spurt.
