This is my second Sugared Violets & should be a very easy shawl but for some reason (that only God knows), I always struggle through the mesh lace section. The entire time I’m thinking “Just shoot me now”. But hundreds of knitters love the lace section so just ignore this little rant….

The reason I struggle through the lace part is the fact that the finished shawl sits perfectly on my shoulders. It is undeniably the very best behaved shawl I have. It could be described as a very terrible two that grows into a true Southern Lady.

Another reason this pattern is worth the trouble is it only uses 370 yds and the finished size, blocked, is 66x20. It’s definitely a real shawl, not a shawlette.
