This knit up fairly quickly and I’m overall pleased with the end product. Bernat’s Sweet and Fresh line of baby yarn has some great coordinating colors across their blanket chenille, sport weight acrylic, and novelty chenille Pipsqueak that go outside of the box of traditional baby colors. The grasshopper green is gender neutral and not a cliche pastel, which I like as newborn eyes aren’t developed enough see pastels anyway.

While I rather wish the hand was a bit softer for the blanket, it isn’t necessarily bad either.

As for the pattern, even though there are supposed to be corrections the math still doesn’t quite add up for the picked-up stitches in the cable border and the suggested fix in the pattern comments didn’t work out either. I ended up picking up 118 stitches on the center panel sides and using the first and last stitch of the center panel top and bottom as the corner stitches for a total of 476 stitches at the first border round.
