Notes

This is my first time attempting a real sock. I liked the yarn much better on the skein than knit up as far as color distribution, but now that I have one full sock done it’s not so bad.

The pattern is super easy to memorize which made the whole thing seem to just fly off the needles.

When I cast off, I tried to just bind off loosely but it was still too tight to get over my heel/ankle comfortably. I decided to try a single crochet bind off that I found in the (Readers Digest) Knitter’s Handbook by Montse Stanley as it claimed this type of bind off is both strong and elastic. It’s unbelievably stretchy and is a great match for elasticity for the top of a mid-calf sock. I’ll definitely be using that bind off again and again when I need that kind of stretch. :)
