Notes

Trying a different oval rug pattern. The last one just didn’t work out.

Original pattern calls for bulky yarn. I am using 3 strands held together. 3 strands of worsted weight is thicker than bulky yarn.

I used an 8 mm hook for the chain. A 7 mm hook for the rest of rug.

I feel like the stitches (dc) are a bit flimsy feeling for a rug. But I am not comfortable with a smaller hook and this much yarn. We will see how it works out.

I noticed another project that felt it was too flimsy and they frogged their rug.

I noticed that almost every single project had a very badly done seam where the joins for each round were done. I am going to work in a spiral to avoid a seam.

I am going to try a hdc instead of a dc to see it it works out as a firmer texture.

Frogged
I have tried this about 5 times. Constantly frogging back and trying to get it to lay flat. I am using hdc stitches instead of dc. I know this makes the rounds shorted. But I wanted a firmer rug.

I keep getting ruffled ends. Too many increases. I even skipped a couple of rounds to eliminate increases. It still didn’t work.

I am tired of fussing with it.

The instructions are well written. I just don’t want such a flimsy rug.
