Make sure to test if you get the shaft over your heal after finishing with the first half. The cables constrain the elasticity substantially! I switched to 3mm ipo 2.5mm needles to allow for enough width.
The instructions for the leg pattern have an error. Instead of „work chart A once, then repeat rnd 3 – 28.“ it should read: „work rows 1-26 once and the continue with rows 3-28“.
I added 2 rows to the heel for comfort and picked up 17 stitches for the gusset to accommodate my high instep.
Approaching the toe, I thought of an additional design element there. I added a cable similar to chat B, but this time from outside to inside an having the toe stitches in plain stockinette. I started that cable 3 rounds ahead of my toe decreases (35 rows after last gusset decrease) which I made 1x every 4th row, 2x every 3rd row, 7x every 2nd and row 2x every row.
Overall, I think it’s a pretty pair of socks, but the print of the yarn is already a little much for the pattern.
