Notes

22.01.2023

I‘m going to take the pattern as a guideline for the gusset and sole construction but will have to adjust stich counts as my yarn has a heavier weight and thus I’m using larger needles. My sock is 62 stitches after the ribbing and braid.

23.02.2023
Given the weight of the project so far (2/3 through the gusset), I won’t have enough yarn to finish. Also, looking at it now, I perceive the ribbing as too long as well as the whole leg part. Moreover, I think the Latvian braid would look better in a contrast color („pudrig“). Looks like I‘ll just have to start over…

New attempt this weekend, result looks good so far. Have to finish the toe for getting the weight, hope enough yarn will remain for the second one… yarn chicken experience!

2023/02/24
First sock finished! Yarn will be sufficient. What I’m not yet fully happy with is how the tip of the toe box worked out, way too pointed. Will try a different technique with the second sock and then decide.

2023/03/06
Decided to stick with the pointed toe, will hopefully block-out a little bit or form on the foot like it did with other socks.
(By now, Jan. 2024, I can tell it dos not. I wear them anyway.)
