April 27th - cast-on
Had a bit of a wobble, couldn’t make up my mind about using ALL single yarn or as pattern, single & doubled yarn. Went for as pattern.

I decided to add beads to the lace edging as the whole piece was quite monotone, the beads pick out the earthy coppery notes in the DSilk.

• Using 4.5mm throughout
• 2 edge stitches this time
• construction as pattern (except above)
• yarn held double for 4 rows then BFL only for 4 rows, as the colour is the same, & as there was no differentiation between yarn weights, this looked better
• 30.04 - the gorgeous ceramic beads arrived today thanks to Petra at Scorched Earth, the green drop beads match the yarn exactly! So pleased with them.
• Knit Body to 18 repeats, wanted to make it bigger but was nervous about running out of yarn again
• Body used 68g BFL and 49g DS
• I have about 450 stitches to ‘snip’
• Going for the Bling! used approx 30g small beads on lace edging, Miyuki Seed Beads 8, metallic copper, bronze
• both yarns used for lace edging
• edging used 36g of DS and 26g of BFL
• finished dimensions 32” deep x 82” Width (wingspan)

Tassels - I decided to do 2x smaller ones each end, primarily because I thought I didn’t have enough yarn but also to use as many Scorched Earth beads as possible.

Yarn - Love, love love the colour, Cathrin is a genius.
BFL - first time using this base and I like it very much, it is springy, it’s strong and medium smooth. Carries the colours well and gives a woolen finish.
DS - this singles yarn is one of my favourites, its so versatile and the silk gives it that beautiful sheen.
