For this mystery KAL, I am using mystery stash that is worsted weight. I have never blocked using an iron before, but am trying it with these blocks. The iron does a great job of smoothing out any puckering from the stranding, but it does take some of the life out of the fabric. My blocks are about 5 1/2” wide by 7 1/4” long. They vary a little depending on the pattern.
Block 1, Meconopsis
Block 2, Ice Rose
Block 3, Rose Hip
Block 4, Sunflower Bomb
Block 5, Love
Bonus Block, Shamrock. This is not one of the official blocks. A member of the KAL posted it and I liked it. Worked using different yarn than the others, it came out larger in size, 6 1/2” wide by 8” long.
Block 6, Hippy Flower
Block 7, Clematis
Block 8, Crooked Rose
Block 9, Golden Pothos
Block 10, Hug Me Later
Block 11, Eight Leaf Rose
Block 12, Bird Song
Block 13, Butterfly (I did not make this one)
Block 14, Potentilla
Block 15, Butterfly Wings (did not make)
Block 16, Lily
Block 17, Vine (did not make)
Block 18, The Teddy (did not make)
I ran out of the white contrast color, so I did not finish making the blocks. I put 12 blocks together to make a pillow. Side-to-side I used mattress stitch to join the blocks. End-to-end I used a modified 3-needle BO. All around the edges I used the modified 3-needle BO again and bound the pillow right into the knit cover. Pillow ended up approx 16” square.
I talk about this pillow in Podcast 4.
