10.4.12 Started these at my dinner break at work. I’ll be using these for Nerd Wars. The purl stitches look like a minus/negative sign. These were a request from my Aunt Ann. She is allergic to wool so I’m trying out Weekend. Not sure yet if I like it for mitts. Its stiff, but has really nice stich definition and some sheen. I usually have much criticism for things while I’m knitting them and then they grow on me later once I’m done. Ultimately as long as the intended recipient likes them, I’ve done my job.
10.8.12-10.9.12 Finally got a chance to work on these. All I have left are the two thumbs. Been watching Atlantis and I think I found the “spookey” episode I’m going to use for the Halloween challenge. I have no real idea how to translate it to knitting. It’s the one where Elizabeth gets infected with replicator nanites, she has a dream that she’s back on Earth and that her two years on Atlantis have been a dream. The coloring in the psyche hospital is very stark blue and white. Sheppard show up in her dream as a dark spooked ghost that can come through walls, that’s creepy until you find out it’s Sheppard.
