Notes

My gauge is close, but not perfect (4” x 4” == 20 st x 24 rows), but I found that if I knit with a looser tension, I could push that to 20 st x 28 rows, which I’ll totally take!

(mental math because i’m getting confused!)

  • if it took 20st to make 4” and I went up a needle size, it would take less stitches to fill that same 4”, so in this case, I’d want to go down a needle size.
  • if it took 24 rows to make 4” and I went down a needle size, it would take more rows to complete the gauge.

OH OKAY SO IF I GO DOWN ONE SIZE, I SHOULD BE GOOD!

(For some reason, I kept thinking I’d need to go down a size to get more stitches, but up a size to get more rows. whoops, gonna try to downsize to size 4s!)

Size 4 needles are PERFECT. they say “Size 3 3.25mm TAKUMI”, but they don’t fit the size 3 hole in my needle checker. They do fit the size 4 perfectly.
