Notes

20 October - finished the second square

26 October- Woo Sports day! as a professional bench warmer, I completed the third square

30 October - 4th square done.

9 Nov- 5th square be complete

8 Dec- 6th square in the project basket

11 Dec - 7th square done… the end is near!

14 Dec - 8 squares complete… 1 to go!

15 Dec - 9th square done! Alas, I have only now realized that the pattern called for 7 repeats… not 6. Thusly, my squares are not squares! So… Maybe this one all the squares will be going in the same direction, instead of opposite. We’ll see.

17 December - Holy shnikeis, yarn can stretch! I decided to cut fabric squares for backing and then used them to block 2 of the rectangles. Which are now squares! Attaching the backing is taking a lot of time, but I’m really hoping it will be worth it. The 2 completed blocks are currently pinned to some foam with a bajillion pins, drying in the sun. Here’s to hoping this works, since these are acrylic.

20 December - 6 squares bordered, backed, bordered again, and blocked/blocking. 3 more to go, then the sewing together and the sending off to it’s new owner.

21 December - all 9 bordered, backed, and blocking!!!! Depending on how quickly they dry, they will be sewn together tonight or tomorrow and then on the blanket will be on its way by Monday!

22 December- FINISHED!

The horrid ending to the story. My little sister and Sara are no longer friends, and the blanket languished in it’s gift box for 2 months. I called my mom to cry about it’s fate, and she verbally snatched the blanket and has claimed it as her own to keep her warm at work. So, this blanket has a loving owner, but not the owner it was made for. Maybe someday the girls will make up. Until then, Mom can show off my blanket at work.
