first attempt: using Boutique Unforgettable in Cappuccino, Firefly, and Sunset… I love the color combos, but I don’t think it is going to show off the pattern the way I imagined it would. May have to reassess.
second attempt: Woolike in Ivory, Charcoal, Navy, Denim Blue, and Red. Much better. A masculine color combo, this might become a baby blanket for a baby whose father wants to name Thor…
This is a tester blanket, so time to start keeping track of stuff:
Edging/Center color - Ivory
Color 1 - Charcoal
Color 2 - Navy
Color 3 - Red
Color 4 - Denim Blue
Nov 24/25 - deciding on color palette; rows 1-9
Nov 26 - Post TDY house cleaning! rows 10-12
November’s YarnBox was possum yarn, which I have been wanting to try for YEARS. So I made gloves and ignored all other projects for a few days….
Dec 5 - return to this project. I think I’m finally in love with the colors and the way the small yarn is working up. rows 13-16
Dec 6 - rows 17-22, switch to 3.75 hook
Dec 9 - 23-31
Dec 10 - 32-33…. super hard to do drugged up from surgery.
Dec 11 - 34-36 … feeling slightly less zombie-like
Dec 12 - 37-39… still drugged…
Dec 13 - 40-48… less drugged, still foggy
Dec 14-19 - 49-57.. feeling human again! Working on this between neglected housework and cooking real food.
Dec 20 - 58-60
Dec 24 - 61-65
Dec 26 - 66-70
Dec 28 - 71-75
Dec 31-Jan 1 - 76-81 finished with the blanket body! Came very close to needing a second skein of the charcoal, but ended up being just fine! Almost exactly one skein of each color, meaning almost no ends to weave in!
rows 1-2 of border done!
Jan 2 - One day before the deadline, I HAVE FINISHED!!!
lovely textured blanket that will make a good baby/toddler blanket. Really happy with how it turned out!
