Frogged and restarted.

I got to the heel and realized that in the small size, a column of reverse stockinette sits on the centre front of the foot instead of a column of herringbone, which I don’t like. Plus the ribbing was stretched out really taut on my leg, so I can probably afford to go up to the larger size.

I’ve barely had time to knit lately, but I finally finished one sock.

I did an eye of partridge heel, because I didn’t like the look of the regular slip-stitch heel with the herringbone rib.

On the first round of the toe, when switching from the herringbone pattern to stockinette, I knit the YO’s from the previous row through the back loop so there wouldn’t be any holes.

And now I’m gonna start a new project, because I’m so sick of this stitch pattern. :)

Dug the second sock out of hibernation and it’s much less tedious now that it’s had some time out. I’m almost at the heel now.

And one year later, finally blocked and photographed. My second sock turned out considerably bigger than the first, and even the smaller one is a bit loose on me.

I really should’ve knit these on a 2.25 mm needle. Both times that I’ve knit socks on 2.5 mm they’ve been looser than I’d like.

I should throw these in the dryer and see if it helps.
