Cast on for the smaller size, using the German Twisted Cast On, and knitting magic loop.

These are inspired by Mrs. Fitz’s Knit Bits from Outlander.

This may have to do with my knitting these in magic loop, but I’ve learned that, though the instructions say to join back in the round after row 14 of the thumb, my working yarn isn’t in the right position to do that, so I knit a row 15 (another odd numbered row, working on the right side RS of the yarn), then join back in the round at the end of that round.
