Modified to fit a child and to use worsted yarn.
Using a German Twisted Cast On, I cast on 66 stitches, and knit using the magic-loop method (40” cable).
I followed the pattern directions for its smallest size, except I knit the stockinette section for 5” from the cast on edge.

I modified the decrease section as follows:

Row 1- k4,k2tog around
Row 2- knit around
Row 3- k3, k2tog around
Row 4- knit around
Row 5- k2,k2tog around
row 6- knit around
Row 7- k1,k2tog around
Row 8- knit around
Row 9- k2tog around
