My first try was with H / 5.00 mm hook and a starting of 22, which made an 8-inch wide floppy gappy cloth that I didn’t think would be suitable for washing dishes. My second photo shows that first try.

I was going for a cloth 7 inches wide and much denser and nubbier. On my second try I changed the hook to G / 4.00 mm and kept the starting ch 22. I replaced the initial ch-2 with my own chainless hdc (ch 1, sc in a loop of same ch-1). This produced a nicer denser 6-inch square cloth with some nubbiness. To get to 7 inches, I added a 2-row hdc border. I’m very happy with the result. It will make a great dishcloth and LOL it happens to actually be pink.
