Striped Ribs Scarf
(Based on Lion Brand L0407)

MATERIALS

• About 650 yards sport weight yarn
• Crochet hook size F / 3.75mm
• Yarn needle

GAUGE: 24 sctl and 23 rows = 4 inches

FINISHED SIZES: Scarf should be as long as wearer is tall. For 1 foot of scarf, ch or foundation sc 72.

• For 5 feet 360 sc
• For 5 1/2 feet 396 sc
• For 6 feet 432 sc

ABBREVIATIONS
• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• sctl - single crochet top loop
• st - stitch

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Row 1: Chainless sc foundation the number of sts for desired length of scarf. Piece will seem long but will tighten with subsequent rows.

2. Row 2: Ch 1. Sctl in each st across. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 8 inches from beginning (about 46 rows), or desired scarf width.

3. If desired, sc a border row around perimeter of scarf, 2sc in each corner. Fasten off, weave in ends.
