Margaret (sharecropper at Ravelry) has been a dear fiber friend and more than that. So I am making this in remembrance of her and to celebrate her life and her friendship.
I want this piece of work to become a window panel for my new museum. Margaret would have liked so much to see the photos of my museum, when it was finished.
So with this window panel she will be remembered and there will be something of her in the museum.

I have used Margaret’s pattern of the Angel Wing Begonia as a starting point. For the background I have chosen a piece of lace sprang I have made as a testing piece for a book of Carol James. I have stitched the piece of sprang around a wooden ring.
I also made a flird (flower-bird), using parts of the pattern of the flower. Now I am thinking if there is still something missing in my design. So I will wait with stitching it to the background, until I have decided how to continue.

I have added a second flird and beads, because Margaret was very fond of beads. After that I thought I was finished with this project, but then my friend commented that I maybe needed something to connect the two birds in love, as David and Margaret. Also he said that I maybe could make something as a lasso, because Margaret did crack a bullwhip. So I tried several things and I still have not decided. The name Margaret means pearl, I learned yesterday. So maybe I could use some pearls to make a heart. I also used darker beads, the smaller version of the ones I have used at the sides. Not sure yet what i will choose…

I decided to use the “pearl” beads to make the heart and to connect the two flirds. I also added a larger “pearl” in the center of each flower. And I added some more beads in the leaves.
Today I have attached invisible thread to it and now it is hanging in the front window of my soon to open museum.
