I found a standard “Dropped Stitch” pattern and made sure I had the right number of repeats.
It was basically Cast on multiples of 12 Knit two rows.
Knit 6, yo2, k1, yo3, k1, yo4, k1,yo3, k1, yo2, k1
Knit, dropping YOs of previous rows into ladders. (WSrow)
Knit 1 Row (RS row)
Pearl 1 row (WS row)
Knit 2 rows
K1, yo 2,k1, yo3, k1, yo4, k1,yo3, k1, yo2, K6
Then I messed up after 20 or so repeats and added an extra row somewhere. the pattern reversed sides…so I made an intentional mistake elsewhere to give the overall piece a flip-flop look. I decided I liked this because shawls tend to get all twisty anyway. And, I’m too lazy to pull out hours worth of work when it looks okay.
