I added a ruffled edge to this blanket pattern using the ’gingham checks’ ruffle pattern from the Leisure Arts book “our best BABY AFGHANS”.

I love how easy this was. I don’t know that it was really fast because the rows are so small, even with me crocheting loosely, but the resulting fabric stretches and rebounds back to shape beautifully.

The original pattern tends to draw in toward the middle of the blanket. IMO, the edging helped to minimize that, creating a more uniform look.

I love the result! Will definitely be using this yarn and pattern again.
