Notes

Mods:

  • Twisted my purl stitches (accidentally - see below) at the top while knitting flat.

  • Accidentally knitted the raglan increases backwards, thus the holes. Not sure what I was thinking. I liked the outcome enough not to rip it out. Thankful I realized it before increasing for the hips.

  • Worked 9 rows of both ribs for back hem, for a little longer back (still worked 7 of each for the front hem and both sleeves).

  • Worked about 4” stockinette for collar before switching to ribbing. Only did 5 rows of 1/1 rib.

Updates

3/10/15 : Finally all finished! Completed the knitting and weaving in ends on the 8th, and after blocking, had a few quick minutes to get some pictures today!
I’m so pleased with the result. And I’ve learned things along the way, which is great. A sweet Raveler was curious about my twisted stitches when knitting flat, which led me to discover that I have been twisting my purl stitches since I learned to knit (12.5 years)!! Definitely changes the look of the sweater, but I think it’s actually kind of cool.

2/26/15 : First sleeve done, second one started. The natural light really shows off the gorgeous color of this yarn the best (of course). Can’t wait to get finished pictures outside in the sunshine!

2/18/15 : After setting it aside to work on Georgia’s Bitty Birchbark, then burning my fingers and not being able to knit, and then caring for sick babies, I’ve finally finished the body and am ready to start the sleeves! I’m very excited. The fit is great so far, it will be perfect after blocking.

1/20/15 - Part Two : Tried it on again for another picture! I’m a little past the first hip increase. I wanted to be further along than this by now, but being sick over the weekend (when I expected to get a lot done but got nothing done) really set me back. Oh well, I am really loving it and that’s what matters :)

1/20/15 - Part One : Well, where was my brain when I was making the raglan increases!? I screwed up the m1r and m1l increases. It still looks fine, but I’m bummed that I messed that up (and really not sure why I did that).
I’m less than an inch away from hip increases at the moment. Really loving it and cannot wait to finish the body!!!

1/13/15 : I made it to my goal last night! Sleeves are separated and I’ve made it past the first decrease now. Love seeing it take shape.

1/10/15 : I’m really enjoying knitting this so far! Loving the yarn, of course. And the pattern is great, too! I was hoping to separate sleeves tonight, but I think I’ll set that as my goal for Monday night (I won’t be knitting much this evening or tomorrow). Can’t wait to really see it take shape!
