Notes

7/9/12: DONE!! The seaming almost killed me, and it’s a mess, but it’s DONE.

I crocheted three rounds of multi around the edge instead of doing the I-Cord edging. I tried the cord, but it was going to take forever. The single crochet edging looked just as nice, and then I capped it with one more round in the oatmeal. Worked for me.

I put the blanket in to soak around 2:00, and around 2:30 I stretched it out on the blacktop. I patted it into shape, stretched and prodded, and then stepped away. 1.5 hours later it had baked BONE DRY.

Now, you need to understand that this blanket was soaking wet, and how long it takes for wet wool to dry normally. I could only squeeze out so much water without distorting the fabric, so it really did go down sopping wet. That’s some intense heat, there.

I’m thrilled with how it came out, flaws and all. I know it’s wonky. I know my blocks don’t match up perfectly. In the end, I figured better done flawed than never finished at all. Even so, it looks so lovely, and I know it’ll be much loved and used, especially when it’s cold out.
