Won this yarn at our guild’s retreat in March. I have enough gray sweaters, so I wanted to dye the yarn. Used Dharma acid dye #470, Berry Crush. Used a 1% dye solution in a cold vat immersion, soaking for about 48 hours before heat setting the yarn.
I vacillated between knitting the 2nd or 3rd size. I want some ease, but not tons. After much gauge swatching, I found that a US 10.875/7.5mm needle gave me juuuust under 3 sts/in, which will give me the extra inch and a half or so that I want.
Spreadsheet tells me the size I’m knitting will have 25,000 sts. Not that different than a pair of socks.

FInally sewed in the grosgrain ribbon to stabilize the bands, and wove in all the ends. 84 degrees today, in late September. I don’t think I’ll be wearing this for a while.
