Notes

The two-row Linen Stitch ribbing is a bit of a mind bender, because the pattern is offset in round 2, but also partially reversed (e.g. if you slip with yarn in front, then purl the next stitch on one row, on the next you purl and then slip with yarn in front), so I’m really having to pay attention to what I’m doing. It’s also difficult to read the fabric, because the knit columns have slipped yarn lying across them every other round, which makes them look a lot like the columns with purl sts.

My row gauge for the main body st patt isn’t going to result in a hat that is just over 8’’ in length. I didn’t discover this until it was time to work the second decreasing pattern, so I added an additional repeat of the main pattern to the body before working that decrease pattern.
i.e.
Main pattern twice
Dec patt 1
Main pattern twice
Dec patt 2
Main patt once
dec patt twice
last dec patt once
final rounds

3.8g of yarn remaining. I was sweating at the end, worried I would run out.
