Notes

I simplified this free Fa Fa Fa socks pattern to create some elegant wrist-warmers for my book-loving daughter by knitting the small size; doing 9 rounds of rib; 4 complete pattern charts and ending with another 9 rounds of rib. I cast off in rib.

Instead of a cable needle I simply used a 2mm by 10cm sock needle in bamboo to contrast with the rosewood needles I knit the main piece on.

The pattern is beautifully designed and written. It was my first ever cable pattern and was very easy to follow. It makes the perfect traveller’s pattern because it is so easy to memorise. As you can see I knit these in Kew Gardens, London with the famous pagoda in the background.

Many thanks to Lois from Singapore for sharing this design for free.
