Notes

Simply wonderful pattern, beautifully written and easy to follow! Thank you so much for sharing this, I hope you write many more, I will drop everything apart from stitches to make them.

Notes

I used English needles and undyed Shetland wool of four different shades, even though I went down slightly on the needle size to 2.5mm my gauge was quite big (18 stitches to 5.5cm). I think this was largely due to the fluffiness and rawness of the wool. I therefore stopped the wrap earlier and doubled it and then grafted it together. My wrap is worked across ways. Ah, how I love trying to explain knitting in words (heavy irony)! The upshot was that I couldn’t attempt the mobius-style twist that is possible but I love it as it is.

The Figures

My wrap ended up pretty much the size of the Toast one (width 18cm, length (27cm doubled) 54cm total.

I would like to do this pattern again trying the twist and in the same Shetland wool. To do this I will cast on 108 stitches and do six repeats of the 18 stitches. To get me to approximately 54cm I will knit 10 repeats of the 18 rows. I will then check to see how much is taken off by adding the twist and then knit more if necessary.

I learned a new thing too. Here is the video I used for the provisional cast-on

Again, thank you, thank you. This is now a firm favourite. It will be perfect for winter sports I think since there are no ends to get in the way.
