Using 1.9mm hook to join flowers.
Using a D hook for bodice.
Ch6 between petals was too much so I changed it to ch4.
Only did 16 petals across instead of 20.
Once you’ve finished joining an even row of flowers on the skirt, continue around the last flower until you have joined in petal #11. Then repeat section .
I don’t like the bodice on this at all. It is too tight and dense. Used pattern from “A Treasury of Crochet Patterns”, Page 129. Work in back loop on right side and front loop on back side (revered this for the second front side).
Bodice:
D hook
Ch49
Makes 7 full shells and 2 half shells.
Row 1: Work 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, ^ skip 2 ch, 1 sc in next ch, skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch (shell), rep from ^, ending skip 2 ch, 3 dc in last ch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 1 sc in first dc, ^ 5 dc in next sc, 1 sc in center dc of shell; rep from ^, ending 1 sc in top of turning ch. Ch 2, turn.
Row 3: 2 dc in first sc, ^ 1 sc in center dc of shell, shell in next sc; rep from ^, ending 3 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 for pattern.
Back: 14 rows of pattern
Left Side: Co33. Work 5 rows in pattern.
Row 6: Reduce 1 shell, ch 2, turn.
Row 7: As written.
Row 8: As written (4 shells), ch2, turn.
Row 9: Sc in center of first shell, ch 1, turn.
Row 10: As written, add 2 dc at end, ch1, turn.
Row 11: Sc in 1st dc, shell, sc, half shell, ch1, turn.
Row 12: Sc, shell, sc, half shell, ch1, turn.
Row 13: Sc, shell, sc, half shell, ch1, turn.
Row 14: Sc, shell, sc, half shell.
Right Side: Same as left, but reverse crocheting into the front/back loop.
Cuff:
Two rows of shells.
One row of sc with a 3stitch picot at the top of each shell.
Button Band:
Left Front: 16 dc
Right Front: 15 sc, turn, ch1, sc in same spot, ch5, sk 1, sc5, ch5, sk1, sc5, ch5, sk1, sc2
Bottom Edge: sc, ch 6, sc in next slst, ch 6. Only ch 4 over the two loops between the daisies.
Once I figure out what size this is, I’ll consider making a bonnet to match.
As I suspected at the beginning, five rows of daisies was too long. I ripped one row out.
Bonnet is two rows of six daisies, then four in the center back. I attached the back daisies to the sides as I did the joining chains. The two top corners of the bonnet should have three “ch7” joining spots instead of four.
