A fun two hour knit. What is a home without a fair isle egg cosy?

I will try and describe what I did. Change anything to custom it to your fancy! I wanted a long cylindrical cosy that was easy to pull off and covered the whole egg and egg cup. For this CO anything from about 48 to 54, depending on your gauge and the size you want. K2, p2 rib for 4 rounds. Then knit in the round for desired length. Decrease fairly quickly to get a flat top, and for a pointy top be a little more patient. The mini tassel was fun to make.

My gauge is 32 stitches with 2 mm needles in Shetland Heritage yarn.

And since you are here: I would like to direct your attention to the Facebook group The Fair Isle Fisherman’s Kep page, which is a group for those who have purchased Anne Sinclairs pattern reconstructed from traditional Shetland fishermans keps. Proceeds from the sale of the pattern go entirely to support the George Waterston memorial centre and Museum in the Fair Isles.
