This one is going slowly as I’ve started it at the same time as a weekly sewing challenge. A nice one for up-and-down knitting though and I love the yarn.
:)
(I’m better at updating my blog than my project notes - you can find any posts relating to this project here)
Saturday May 14th - I’ve knitted to the 10th ridge - I think I’ll get maybe one or two more out of the first ball of yarn. I am hoping to knit closer to 1.5 to 2 balls to get it to the length I’d like so quite a way to go yet… although the rows are already really long, so I’ll see how it goes. It may drive me crazy before then!!!
I’ve joined an extra cable so I can stretch it out to its full width and check the size as I go.
18th May update here.
20th May 14 ridges completed (only 4 in a week!!!!!) and each row is now taking an age, but I think I’m going to love this when it’s done.
I’ve also been doing lots of little (crochet) projects for instant gratification alongside this to prevent boredom setting in but it’s a great one for a night in front of the TV or while chatting as it really doesn’t require concentration.
May 26th Finished at last!!!!
I used most of the 2 yarn balls (maybe 1.75) and got as far as 16 ridges with the garter border as a continuation of the 16th. The ‘stripes’ of colour look surprisingly even - I really don’ know how when the later rows were over 400 stitches.
It’s going to need blocking but I can’t do that for at least another week due to a trip this weekend so I’ll post more pictures when that’s done. Straight from the needles it is long enough to reach past the waist of my jeans at the point when worn as a shawl.
