Previous comment lost! Sigh. Made for beloved DIL who loved last year’s Arne and Carlos mittens. Asked for purple. But wanted a different pattern. They became dog-parents this year to Frank, the Frenchie. Choice obvious! BUT after I bought the pattern, discovered it was for not super wash wool and had to be felted to size. Since this was a surprise and her hands are TINY that wouldn’t work. So created my own mash-up: A&C’s base pattern, and my modification of the chart for the Frenchie (eliminated a couple of stitches and rows to make it fit).

First mitten: used same yarn and needles as last year’s. WAY too big--they fit me! Went down two full sizes on the needles. Now I hope they aren’t too small. Tinked the first too-big mitten and re-knit. Hope they fit! Otherwise it will be Third Time’s the Charm.
