Notes

I’m not a fan of cotton yarns usually, but this has a nice hand to it, and the right look to the yarn to achieve the stitch definition that I want. Starting with a Medium and hoping it ends up fitting across the shoulders. I have broad shoulders so sometimes yoke designs don’t flare out enough, but not sure how to modify to compensate. Fingers crossed.

This knit up remarkably quickly. The pattern, if you have done any lace knitting at all, isn’t difficult. I’m really, REALLY pleased with the results and will have to see how the cotton yarn wears. I may take out the ribbing on the sleeves and extend them another 1 to 1.5”. I stopped where I did because I wasn’t sure (a) how much yarn I would have (I usually knit sleeves before completing the body) and (b) how much if any the yarn would grow in blocking (virtually none).

I used needles three sizes down for the ribbing at the hem, and if I re-do the sleeves (where I used needles the usual two sizes down) will use the even-smaller needles as the cotton tends to not snug in the way wool does.

Now if the weather would make up its mind and start warming up, I’m ready to wear this someplace special--got my second COVID shot so I’m ready to meet my BFF for lunch for the first time in a year!
